Pile perch can be found around rocky shores and old piers; mud-bottom bays at inter-tidal zone. Shallow water during the late spring through early winter. They prefer areas with high growth of barnacles and mussels, as well as eelgrass. Fished for off docks and beaches. They can grow to 18 inches and weight up to 5 pounds.
