| The Brown Rockfish is light brown,mottled with dark brown, and dusky pink fins. The lateral line is usually pinkish. Browns live all over the British Columbia coast. You can catch them at depths of 40 to 150 feet deep. Jigs, buzzbombs, Gibbs Minnows and any metal jig work to catch these scrappy fighters. I personally have never caught any of these rockcod fishing of the rocks around Victoria. East Sooke Park would be your best bet for Brown Rockfish. |
