| The Quillback Rockfish is brown to dark brown with yellow mottling on the dorsal fin, back, and sides. Quillbacks usually have characteristic black freckles on its cheeks. The Quillback lives all along the British Columbia coast. You can catch them from very shallow to 600 feet deep. Food items include : shrimp, crabs, clams, worms, perch, sculpins, and various small crustaceans. Jigs, buzzbombs, Gibbs Minnows and any metal jig work to catch these scrappy fighters. |
