Yelloweye Rockfish are bright orange to yellow orange on the back with pinkish tones on the sides and a pale belly. The fins are pink, sometimes edged with black. The distinguishing characteristic is the brilliant yellow eye. Yelloweye Rockfish live all over the British Columbia coast. They live at depths of between 80 and 800 feet. Found shallower in the open ocean. Food items include : herring, Pacific Cod, dogfish, pollack and other fish. |
